How many open periods besides Future enter-able periods can you have in GL

Can I understand why is there no reply to my request for 3 weeks? I am asking a simple question about keeping number of open periods. The training says that I have to always close a period before opening another period.

Sorry for the late reply. I will replying to posts more quickly in the future.

About your question, you can keep any number of periods as Open. You can keep all periods as Open. Technically that is not an issue but off course it is not a good accounting practice. The previous period must be closed before we open the next period so that no one can touch it.
